About sverige.fyi
There is plenty of reliable information about Sweden. It just is not always easy to find or understand. sverige.fyi brings it together and makes it possible to explore.
Why the site exists
We want to make it easier to understand Sweden and the place where you live. Not by telling you what to think, but by giving you clear facts, comparisons, and context from which to form your own view.
The site starts with municipalities and will gradually cover more subjects. The promise stays the same: information should be useful, understandable, and possible to verify.
What you can do
Today you can explore all 290 of Sweden's municipalities — both how residents experience the place where they live and facts about population, economy, education, housing, and democracy.
- Discover differences and patterns on maps.
- Read about a municipality and compare it with Sweden, similar municipalities, and its neighbors.
- Compare every municipality in rankings and lists.
- Search for municipalities, subjects, and questions from anywhere on the site.
Everything is free, with no account and no ads.
Sources you can check
We present data from established, reputable sources and show where the information comes from, so you can check it further.
Different sources measure different things in different ways. Where needed, we explain definitions, samples, and missing data. Uncertainty should be visible, not hidden.
How to read the information
- Facts and experiences
- are kept separate. Statistics about what has happened and survey responses about how something feels tell us different things.
- Missing data
- is shown as missing — never as zero and never hidden away.
- Years and comparisons
- show which period is used. If different years appear together, we say so.
- Questions about problems
- are reported as the share who experience a problem, so the answer follows the question that was asked.
